And The Award Goes To…

The 68th Golden Globes Awards didn’t not disappoint in any areas this year: From host Ricky Gervais who had me holding my side from laughter the whole night to the Red Carpet coverage to the most important part the gowns. The red carpet was covered with gorgeous gowns from lavish greens to various hues of pinks to more basic neutral tones and of course some extravagantly ornate gowns. While they obtained their awards last night today it’s time for the more important awards: the Gown Awards.

Best Over-the-top Gown: Olivia Wilde This black and gold sequin Marchesa gown is to die for. It was perfect for making a statement on this year’s red carpet especially when paired with the most perfect Christian Louboutins.

Best Minimalistic Look: Emma Stone While I am the first to say “Go Big!” when it comes to dressing for the red carpet, when I saw Emma Stones minimalist tangerine-like Calvin Klein dress I swear my jaw dropped. This gorgeous backless gown with a sleek CK clutch definitely puts Emma on my list of fashionistas to watch.

Best Long-Sleeve Gown: Leighton Meester I adore long-sleeve dresses and I was swooning over Leighton’s nude Zac Posen long-sleeve gown. Her Jimmy Choo shoes gave oomph to her neutral dress and her Louis Vuitton clutch was simply elegant. With this gown choice, there is no doubting Leighton’s great eye for fashion.

Best Sequins Gown: Anne Hathaway Anne Hathaway’s stunning Giorgio Armani gown is the perfect combination of elegance and pizzazz. From its rich amber color to its embellishments with Swarovski crystals this dress doesn’t fall short.

Best RED Carpet Gown: Sofia Vergara While some say it’s a mistake to wear red on the red carpet this dress on Sofia Vergara is anything but a mistake. This stunning Vera Wang gown hugs this curvy actress in all the right places.  Plus the corseted back is perfect for this bombshell beauty.

Best Bright Gown: Claire Danes Besides winning a Golden Globe Award Claire has also won my award for best bright gown. Pink hues covered the red carpet at the Globes this year but Claire’s was my favorite. The neon-like Calvin Klein dress was an amazing color for her, plus the simple cut with the small train makes this gown a perfect choice. Bravo Claire!
