On the streets of London this season, London fashionistas have nixed warm weather shoes and opted for more practical and fashionable fall footwear. One popular shoe trend on London’s streets this fall are boots. Boots are a great pair of shoes to own for both the fall and winter season this year.

On the streets of London this fashionista was found rocking thigh-high boots. Thigh-high boots are very popular this fall and are a very sexy boot to rock. Thigh-high boots add a little sex appeal to any fall ensemble, whether it you add them to a simple pair of skinny jeans for a casual day look or a dress for a night on the town. They key to thigh-high boots are the clothes you matching them with. Looking like Julia Roberts from “Pretty Woman” isn’t what you want to go for. If you opt for wearing these boots with dresses or skirts opaque tights will be your best friends. They will make your outfit more chic and less like a hooker. With dresses opt for dress with more coverage up top or pair it with a jacket/ cardigan of some sort. Since thigh high boots are tight make sure you wear them with very skinny jeans so as to not have bulge at the top. The key is to look sexy, not trashy.

Adding edge to your outfit is very popular this season and now edginess is being added to your boots. Fall boots are being transformed into more rugged looking with the addition of buckles and the lace-up look. This fashionista in London adds edge to her look with a pair of buckled boots.

Moto boots are great for adding edge to an outfit as they incorporate the buckles while mixing in studs. The great things about thing about these boots are they can be mixed in with many different outfits. Add them to a fall dress to toughen up the ensemble or pair with a leather jacket for a completely edgy look.

Lace-up boots are everywhere this fall. Personally this fashionista seriously wants a pair of lace-up booties. They are a new way to wear boots. You can find the lace-up look in booties, flat-ankle boots or tall- flat boots. Buy them in brown/camel for a riding boot look or buy them in black/grey for a more rugged moto boot look. Lace-up booties look great when paired with another fall trend: lace. Mixing feminine and rugged looks together always make for a great combination.

Faux fur boots are great for transitioning from fall to winter. Since faux fur is so hot this season of course it’s great to incorporate it in your footwear. I personally think faux-fur lined boots are the best option. It adds a little bit of spice to your outfit without looking too ‘woolly-mammoth’. This London fashionista pairs a pair of lace-up fur lined booties with a neutral outfit for a great fall look. Just like I said in my previous fur article. The key is not to incorporate too much fur in the ensemble; if you’re going to do fur-lined boots then keep the rest of the look simple.

For simpler boot looks try a pair of simple riding boots or a pair of the ever-so popular slouchy suede boots. Both these boots are great for fall without being too over done. Flat riding boots in brown shades look great incorporated into any fall outfit. These tend to be simple but you can also find them with buckles and zippers for a little more edge. Just lack last fall it seems slouchy suede boots are popular again. These boots are simple, fall boots that mix well with any outfit. They can be dressed down for a more casual look or dressed up for a night-out look. Both these boots can be very versatile, so if I were you I’d invest in a pair of one of these. (I know I’m gonna buy a pair riding boots)

Boots are everywhere this fall: from runways, to the streets of London to the streets of America. While flip-flops and sandals are great for the summer, it’s time for us to realize it’s not summer anymore. So lets pack up our flip-flops and make room for this seasons boots.
